Position title
Junior Board Program Intern Fall 2022

Our Junior Board Program Interns play a pivotal part in helping us to expand our Junior Board Program for young professionals.

During this internship, you will work on recruitment and outreach for the InReach Junior Board Program. Our Junior Board Program empowers young professionals (ages 21 to 40), with a focus on those from historically underrepresented communities in business and executive leadership positions (such as LGBTQ+, TGNC, immigrants, women, BIPOC ). Junior Board members play a critical role in our fundraising and development efforts, and connect with other like-minded young professionals. Membership requires annual membership dues, attendance at monthly local meetings, and organizing fundraisers to benefit InReach.

In this internship, you will help us to recruit new young professionals to join our 2023 Junior Board Program. We’re looking for meticulous, hard-working students who are passionate about LGBTQ+ and refugee rights, and committed to ensuring the continued success of our Junior Board Program.

  • Report to our Programs Director.
  • Research contacts and LGBTQ+ employee resource groups at companies across target industries (e.g. finance/IB, tech, corporate law, consulting, fashion).
  • Email and call company contacts and LGBTQ+ employee resource groups to share our 2023 membership application and upcoming remote virtual information sessions.
  • Assist with converting our Junior Board Program from fully remote to local regional chapters beginning in 2023.
  • Assist with conducting interview screenings with 2023 Junior Board member applicants, as needed.
  • Additional ad hoc recruitment and outreach tasks for the Junior Board Program, as needed.
  • Obtained or pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree (e.g. B.A., B.S., M.S., M.B.A).
  • The flexibility to email and call companies during local business hours.
  • You are comfortable using online communication tools (e.g. G Suite, Slack, Asana, Telzio).
  • The ability to follow instructions and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills.
  • You are reliable, meticulous and appreciate the value of deadlines.
  • Previous experience in recruitment and/or corporate outreach is a plus.
  • Strong interest in LGBTQ+ and refugee rights, and technology for social good.

Schedule & Compensation: We’re looking for interns to join us for the Fall 2022 semester (Tuesday, September 6 – Friday, December 9, 2022) with a commitment of 10-30 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The specific schedule and total number of hours spent per week is flexible and depends on the personal availability of each intern.

*Note: This internship is remote and unpaid. Interns may also extend the internship into the 2023 Spring Semester.
