Rachel is a PhD candidate at Florida International University studying Criminal Justice. She holds a Bachelors in Psychology from Eastern Washington University and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. She is a graduate research assistant and peer mentor in her program, she researches prosecution, corrections, and LGBTQ+ hate crimes. Rachel is passionate about improving the lives of incarcerated individuals, especially gender diverse individuals in this gender binary system.
