This spring, a dedicated group of interns brought their language skills and care to InReach’s translation team—helping make our platform more inclusive and accessible for LGBTQ+ people navigating barriers to support.

Our Spring 2025 Translation Proofreader Interns contributed more than 180 hours this term to improving the language accessibility of the free InReach platform, ensuring that more people can find the help they need in the language they feel most comfortable using.

Here are just a few highlights from their work:

• 💬 225,000+ words translated from English into Chinese, Hindi, Korean, and Spanish.
• 📝 387,000+ words proofread (across the same languages) to ensure accuracy and cultural sensitivity in gender-neutral language.
• 🌈 ~3,000 words translated and proofread for the #TransMascFutures Campaign—keeping this powerful storytelling campaign multilingual and inclusive.

Because of their efforts, more LGBTQ+ community members—especially immigrants, asylum seekers, and those in crisis—can access verified, affirming support that meets them where they are.
