Trans Visibility is Core to Trans Futures—And Safety is Essential

Trans Visibility is Core to Trans Futures—And Safety is Essential
Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the strength, joy, and resilience of trans and gender non-conforming (TGNC) people everywhere. But we also recognize a hard truth: visibility alone isn’t enough. Safety, support, and action are essential.
For many, seeing another trans person—someone who has survived, thrived, and lived authentically—is life-changing. As one #TransMascFutures campaign participant shared:
“The first time I saw a future for me as a trans man was when I met a real trans adult. This transmasc person became like a father to me, and he was pivotal to when my life was revitalized after starting my journey with gender-affirming care. Trans visibility is core to trans futures.”
Representation matters, but it must be paired with real-world support. This year alone, over 820 anti-trans bills have been introduced across the U.S.—42 have already been signed into law. These attacks don’t just target trans rights; they threaten trans lives.
Not everyone can be out. Not everyone is safe.
That’s why InReach is taking action. We’re working to ensure trans people don’t just see a future for themselves—we’re helping build it. Through the #TransMascFutures Campaign, we are:
✨ Uplifting 100+ positive stories from a diverse group of trans masc adults
🌈 Increasing access to life-saving, verified resources for thousands of TGNC folks in need
💖 Helping trans youth see and build their futures
