InReach strongly condemns the surge of anti-Asian violence in the United States.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, violent attacks and hate speech against the AAPI community has spiked. According to Stop AAPI Hate, a coalition that tracks incidents of violence and harassment against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S., there have been at least 3,800 instances of discrimination reported against Asians in the past year. (The actual number could be much higher.) The majority of attacks have targeted Asian women.

“InReach stands in solidarity with the Asian community. There is no place for racism and gender-based violence in America. At InReach, we remain fully committed to ensuring every LGBTQ+ person fleeing persecution has the safety to live authentically, including members of the AAPI community. We echo the calls for meaningful action to stop Asian hate.”
